HOPI LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

A Project of The Hopi Foundation

HOPI LEADERSHIP PROGRAM AT A GLANCE

A Distinct Identity

The Hopi Leadership Program knows that our strength lay not only in the words we stand by but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives. Back in 2006, our Nonprofit Organization realized that we could overcome our challenges much more efficiently by working together. This is why we ultimately decided to launch the Hopi Leadership Program.

"The Hopi Leadership Program has given me the confidence to face many challenges in my life; personally, professionally, and spiritually. I have gained valuable knowledge and a better understanding of our history, culture, language and resources here at Hopi, and how every aspect plays a vital role in how we plan to carry out services within our communities. It has opened my eyes to new ideas and opportunities, such as non-profit, and how we can utilize these concepts to achieve our goals that will benefit our people. This Program has made a profound impact on my life, and has given me the desire, passion and tools to make me a more effective leader with in my community."

ACTIVITIES

The Hopi Leadership Program is in the business of changing and shaping lives. The work we do at our Nonprofit Organization is aimed at providing a cultural and modern approach to growing both adult and youth leaders. We make sure that by creating unique cultural and locally based opportunities, our programs empower Hopi & Tewa individuals and the communities they come from.

The Hopi Foundation's projects: the Hopi Leadership Program and the Hopi Opportunity Youth Initiative helped to inspire the groundwork of the Hopi Youth Leadership Program (HYLP). The HYLP works to nurture and develop the next generation of leaders - our Hopi & Tewa youth.

The HLP Alumni Committee serves the Hopi Leadership Program in an advisory capacity and as professional mentors in the greater community. In addition, the HLP's growing network of alumni members continue to provide support for the groundwork of The Hopi Foundation's projects and other community efforts that align with the mission of The Hopi Foundation and the Hopi Leadership Program.
